It is official: I have stalled out on the cardigan. Every sweater that I make goes through this period, but I did not expect to get to hit the wall so soon on this one. It is probably due to my short attention span for knitting this summer, aided by my new found enjoyment of embroidery. In the meantime, I've cast on a different Ysolda Teague pattern, Ishbel, to keep something going on the needles. I do not have anything interesting to photograph on that project yet, so I'm posting something inspiring instead:
This is a marble statue called 'Undine' that I saw in an art museum last week. I was so struck by the beauty of it, that I had to snap a photo on my iPhone. What I love the most is her face, the detail of the folds of the fabric yet you can still make out what lies underneath. I hope you find it as inspiring as I do!

Stitchy Witchy
This is a very exciting week for me, as the new Harry Potter movie opens on Wednesday. Regular readers of my blog are aware of my love of all things Potter and that I've been known to dabble in HP crafting from time to time. And here I am again, proving just how big of a nerd I am.
I'm not the type to attend the premiere in costume, but I can't let this moment pass without making something! So I whipped out my new needle felting tools and threw together this little witches hat. It is so cute that maybe I will have to make an exception to the no-costumes rule, just this one.
